About the studio

A drawing room and a job site under one roof

We are about twenty people on West 6th Street: designers, an estimator, project managers, superintendents and carpenters.

Most firms have a designer or a builder, and the client carries the plan between them. We keep both in one building, so the person who draws the wall is the one who has to build it, and who tells you what it costs.

The studio

The people you will deal with

About twenty of us: designers, an estimator, project managers, superintendents and carpenters. These are six you meet before anything is signed.

  • Glenda Hilliard

    Principal and design director

Leads the design team and meets every client at the first conversation.

  • Suresh Doshi

    Principal and head of construction

Reads every drawing before it goes to price and signs each build agreement.

  • Iliana Cervera

    Director of preconstruction

Writes the planning binder and builds the budget behind the maximum price.

  • Hyunwoo Baek

    Senior project manager

Your point of contact from the build agreement to the walk-through.

  • Carmelo Guajardo

    Lead superintendent

On site every working day, protecting the house while we are in it.

  • Christa Hoover

    Interior design lead

Runs the selections book and sets up the sample table at the studio.

How we work

Three rules we hold ourselves to

  • Draw it before we price it

A number made from a sketch is a guess. We price from drawings you have read.

  • One team from start to finish

The people who wrote the binder stay on the project. You won't be handed to someone new at the build agreement.

  • Say no early

If a plan won't fit the lot, the budget or the structure, you hear it in the binder phase.
